After serving 4 years as an infantryman in the USMC and spending over a decade as a mechanical and manufacturing engineer; I decided to pour all my efforts into my passion. This passion being knifemaking. What started as a hobby quickly began to evolve into a business that was consuming more and more time. I was at a point in my life where I was ready for a change and decided it was time to direct all my energy into something I truly love, knifemaking.

I am so thankful for my wife’s support of this endeavor and helping me along the journey of being a small American-made business owner. Watching my 3 children show interest in not only knifemaking but being a maker in general has been an awesome experience along the way.

All knives from Buttonhook Forge are created right here in my shop by me with my highest level of attention to detail. Shaping, profiling, grinding, heat treatment, etching, stonewashing, and sheaths are all done by hand with the most amount of American-made material I can source. Even handle material is stabilized and processed here in my shop.
